If you don’t want to go out and buy all the gear or you just want to try a different type of fishing, booking a fishing charter is probably the right move. There are a bunch of different options and the price will vary depending on what you’re fishing for and where you are. In this post, I’m going to be talking about the average cost of a fishing charter.

Based on what I could find, the average cost of a full day fishing charter is $249 USD per person while the average cost of a half-day charter is $150 USD person. It will all depend on where you’re going and what you’re fishing for but the range is somewhere between $ and $ for the entire day.

I’ll break everything down below and include some of the info I found. We’ll be talking about prices in different locations and prices for the different types of charters. There were prices that were much lower than the averages and there were prices that were higher.

Salmon fishing is probably one of the more popular charters to go with and there are a lot of different places you can go to do it. You’ll find them all along the west and east coast but the price will vary a bit depending on where.

The average cost of a half-day salmon fishing charter is $177 USD per person while a full day trip will be around $292 per person. You can expect to pay less if you don’t care about the nicest boat and gear and you could expect to pay more for higher quality stuff.

The cost on the west coast of Vancouver Island for a half-day trip is around $237 USD per person while a full day trip will be around $428 USD per person. That’ll include a nice boat with lots of room, gear, cleaning, and fuel (info from Salmon Eye Charters).

The cost on the east coast of Vancouver Island for a half-day trip is around $129 USD per person (for up to 4 people) while a full day trip will be around $207 USD per person. The cost off the coast of California for a half-day trip will be around $165 USD per person (for up to 6 people) while a full day trip will be $241 USD per person. Halibut is another popular choice when it comes to getting a charter and the good news is that you can find them in a lot of different places. They’re big, heavy, put up a good fight, and they taste really good.

The average cost of a half-day halibut fishing charter is $159 USD per person while a full day trip will be around $274 per person.
